Best Multiplayer Geography Games to Play With Friends Online

Updated

Geography games get better with other people. A close duel, a room full of friends shouting out countries or a team racing the clock turns a quiet quiz into a competition.

This guide compares geography games that are built for playing together. It explains the different kinds of multiplayer, what each game lets you do for free, and what you need to host a game for your friends.

Four kinds of multiplayer geography game

  • Live duels

Two players, or two small teams, see the same location and race to the better guess. Often ranked.

  • Lobbies and parties

One person hosts, shares a link and everyone plays the same rounds together. Ideal for game nights and classrooms.

  • Team races

Teams play the same challenge at the same time and the best team wins. Teamwork matters as much as knowledge.

  • Daily games you share

Everyone plays the same puzzle on their own, then compares results. Good for friends in different time zones.

The best multiplayer geography games

  1. 1. Huntaz

    Our game: team treasure hunts

In Huntaz, multiplayer means a race between teams. Join a hunt alone or with up to three friends, wait together in the waiting room, then explore the same real locations in Google Street View at the same time as every other team.

Treasure chests are hidden around each location. Any chest a teammate opens adds Huntaz Points for the whole team, and each team needs enough points at every location to stay in. The surviving team with the most Huntaz Points wins. Scheduled Multiplayer hunts start on a regular timetable, and Sponsored Multiplayer hunts have Huntaz Coin prizes for the top team. Huntaz Coins are in-game rewards with no cash value.

When your friends are offline, you can still play a Quick Hunt on your own or take on the Daily Hunt.

Team treasure hunts: how Huntaz multiplayer works

Most multiplayer geography games pit you against each other. Huntaz puts you on the same side.

  • Join before the countdown ends, alone or with a team of up to four. Teams lock when the hunt starts.
  • Explore the same locations in Street View as every other team, at the same time.
  • Find chests together. A chest counts once for your team, whoever opens it.
  • Reach the target at each location to stay in the race.
  • The surviving team with the most Huntaz Points wins.

Tips for a great geography game night

  • Pick the format first: a duel ladder for rivals, a lobby for a big group, a team race if people want to cooperate.
  • Check who needs an account. In several games only the host needs one, and guests can join from a link.
  • Mix difficulty. Flag and map quizzes suit beginners; Street View guessing rewards experienced players.
  • Want a break from geography? Our free multiplayer browser games guide covers drawing, word, board and party games.
  • Finish with something everyone can share, such as that day’s Worldle or the next Huntaz hunt open to join.

Sources and how we checked

We checked each game's own website on 27 October 2026 for how it plays, what is free and what needs an account or payment. Games change their features and plans often, so check the official site before you rely on any detail here.
